Clay, concrete, time
Skulpturlandsby Selde 2018

The sculpture, Brick, is permanently installed in Skulpturlandsby Selde and was part of the group show “It’s About Time” in 2018. I designed my own brick and produced 350 units using clay from a field near the village, Selde. The sculpture takes the shape of the negative space of the brick, scaled up 10 times, turned with the notch facing down. The bricks are unburned and the joints are made in concrete – this means that over time the clay rinses away and eventually a concrete grid will stand alone revealing the notch in every ‘lack of brick’-space, continuously repeating the shape of the sculpture as a whole.
